United Way Philanthropists’ Circle
2011 Gift Matching Opportunity

A group of visionary citizens has come together to form the United Way Philanthropists’ Circle and has re-launched the Matching Gift program – just for United Way of the Lower Mainland donors. The goal of the Philanthropists’ Circle is to raise $3.5 million in matching funds in 2010, to inspire individuals and corporations to increase their generosity when it is needed most.

For first time (or returning) donors to United Way, right now, regardless of how much you give, 100% of your donation qualifies to be matched. That will give you twice the impact in our community!

For current donors to United Way, simply give at least 15% more than you did during the last campaign year, and every dollar of your increase is eligible to be matched.

With your help, we can change the future of our community.

____ The Criteria____________________________________________________

Match will be applied to all United Way of the Lower Mainland giving GREATEST IMPACT, any priority investment area (Children 0-6, Children 6-12 or Seniors) and Communities of Giving (i.e. Women United in Philanthropy) also qualify.

New donors giving to United Way for the first time will qualify for a 100% match of their gift (e.g. donor gives $365 + matching gift $365 = $730 impact in the community!) Donors who shift their giving to United Way (i.e. they designated a portion or their entire 2009 gift) will also qualify for the matching program at 100% match of their gift to United Way.

Current donors (those who gave in 2010) renewing their support of United Way with a minimum increase of 15% will also qualify for the match. The increased portion of the 2011 gift to United Way will be matched. (e.g. donor gave $1000 in 2010 and gives $1150 in 2011 + matching gift of $150 = $1300 impact in the community!)
